MVH - Companion Animal Centre

The companion animal centre is a department within the Muswellbrook Veterinary Hospital devoted entirely to the care and treatment of companion animals. Our patients include all breeds of dogs, cats, birds, mice, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, fish and snakes.

The companion animal centre operates an "A class" hospital inspected and approved by the NSW Veterinary Surgeons Board. A large range of equipment is available at all times for the diagnosis and treatment of the patients. This equipment includes:

Our experienced staff participate in regular continuing education programs. Using this up to date knowledge and their experience they can utilise the range of equipment to provide patients with first class treatment and care.

The companion animal centre has a fully equipped small animal surgical theatre suite operational every day. A vairety of gaseous anaesthetic agents are available to cater for the different anaesthetic needs of patients. Pulse oximetry and ap alert monitors are used on all patients during anaesthesia and surgery. Appropriate pain relief is determined and administered for each individual animal.

The staff who make up the team in the companion animal centre all share a keen interest and love of small animals and provide not only the medical treatment required but also the TLC which every pet deserves.

A 24hour emergency service is available.

The hospital also provides a puppy preschool. Dates for classes are available on request.

Professional Grooming is available every Wednesday.

Dog and Cat boarding is available by booking at the hospital.
