MVH - Equine Embryo Transfer

The following is general information concerning fees and procedure options available in our Equine Embryo Transfer Programme. Although this document is intended to cover most situations, please do not hesitate to verify all expectations and/or charges that you consider are not covered in sufficient detail.

Facilities Available at MVH

All Embryo Transfer procedures are conducted onsite at Muswellbrook Veterinary Hospital, Muswellbrook, NSW. A successful embryo transfer programme requires use of an area where mares can be securely restrained with the minimum of stress and one in which the equipment and materials are held in an atmosphere that is clean and tidy with controlled environmental conditions and located close as possible to the mares themselves.

Muswellbrook Veterinary Hospital has magnificent facilities, arguably the best available in Australia. Stables, yards and treatment area are all fully secure, safe, supervised facilities, with an undercover integrated treatment area. The laboratory, surgery theatre and mare crush are part of the main hospital, located directly adjacent to the stable block.

Additionally, for long-term agistment, provisions have been made to provide donor and recipient mare care at the property of Ms Fairley Gidley-Baird. This property is located only three kilometers from the surgery for ease of access and transport.
