MVH - Equine Podiatry and Lameness Centre
The Hunter Valley Equine Podiatry and Lameness Centre (EPOD) presently operates within the premises of the Muswellbrook Veterinary Hospital. Beginning later in 2005 a dedicated facility to house the Equine Podiatry Centre will be constructed. Until its completion, EPOD will continue to utilise the MVH stable facilities. New construction will also accommodate the present farrier shop located at the MVH.
EPOD is a facility dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment and critical care of Equine Lameness and Laminitis. We are a dedicated team of skilled professionals. Our facility provides a unique approach, providing the combined efforts of farrier and veterinarian in an effort to eliminate the cause of lameness and assist in the recovery from laminitic episodes. We also can provide an educational experience to the Farrier, Veterinarian or student that desires to be "A Cut Above"..

The Hunter Valley Equine Podiatry and Lameness Centre, in association with the Muswellbrook Veterinary Hospital, Pty., Ltd., is a facility dedicated to the diagnosis and critical care of equine laminitis and other lameness conditions. Established in October 1996, the centre is the first of its kind in Australia. Mr. Baumann and Dr. Hicks together with the staff of veterinarians and nurses, combine their knowledge, skills and experience to provide a unique service to the equine industry.
