MVH - A Teaching Hospital

Veterinary students come to MVH in their final year rotations to access the skills and experience of our clinician. Veterinary students come from the University of Sydney and the University of Queensland's veterinary establishments. International students have also taken advantage of educational opportunities we offer. International students are always welcome, provided they are aware of legal restrictions associated with veterinary practice in Australia.

The hospital also works in conjunction with the Hunter Valley TAFE School of Nursing in providing trainee nurses with industry experience with both large and small animals.

The Equine Podiatry Centre at MVH also works with the Hunter Valley TAFE School of Farriery to provide farriers in training with essential experience. MVH also gives farriers opportunities to further their education with Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
